there is no one recipe for living that suits all cases.” - Carl Jung

About me

For as long as I can remember, I have felt drawn to helping and supporting others. I feel very passionate about the work that I do and the benefits it can bring. My own experience of therapy has allowed me to see the immense value of developing a deeper understanding and relationship with ourselves. I strongly feel that this is crucial to address as we journey through life and our relationships with others.

Years of travel have allowed me to experience different cultures, traditions and values. This has enabled me to develop a better understanding and awareness of differing views and perspectives.

I have previously been a volunteer for the mental health charity, Mind, offering counselling to people who may be experiencing barriers to help. This links to my core values of challenging inequality and helping individuals make sense of their internal and external world.

To be aware of our thoughts is key. This is why engaging in mindful and creative methods is something I emphasise through my therapy, letting the client lead the way. I enjoy being creative myself, making natural candles and jewellery for friends, family and important causes.

I will work with you to help you find mindful and creative outlets to explore feelings of joy and freedom, adding to a sense of self and a release from the constraints of adult life.

I am an integrative therapist.

This means that I have trained in various modalities which have helped shape the practice that I hold today. I firmly believe that we are all wonderfully unique beings and there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy. My practice takes a different form with every client I meet depending on their wants and needs.

The way I work is primarily shaped by Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Existential theory:

Psychodynamic

Whilst I do not feel we are entirely shaped by our past, I support the psychodynamic concept that the past can impact our being in the present. Through this approach, my clients are able to explore both conscious and unconscious parts of the self, potentially exploring aspects of their childhood along the way.

Humanistic

I resonate with this modality as it supports the idea that the client is the expert of their own lives, and through the right facilitative conditions which I aim to provide in my practice, we are all able to support ourselves through ongoing change and growth.

Existential

Through my use of the existential approach to therapy, I aim to help the client to develop their authentic relationship with themselves. This therapeutic approach values the uniqueness of each individual, as we all embark on our own journey through life.
